Seven cities, and who I'm running for

RUNNING FORTOURETTES ACTION7SEVEN MAJORS · ONE CAUSETHE NAME ON THE VEST

Seven cities is the framing that makes this whole project easy to explain: London, Berlin, Chicago, New York, Boston, Tokyo, Sydney. Say “I’m trying to run all seven majors” and people get it immediately, no further explanation needed.

But the majors were never really the point on their own. I’m running for Tourettes Action, the UK-wide charity for people living with Tourette syndrome — and it’s not a name picked off a list. I’ve lived with motor tics myself, so it’s a cause I understand from the inside. The donate page is live now, with the full story behind that.

The short version: this isn’t a project I want to do quietly. Seven majors, over what’s probably going to be five or six years, is a long time to ask people to pay attention to something that’s ultimately just me running. Attaching it to a charity that matters to me personally is what makes that time worth asking for.

The Alton Towers Half in November is the first race carrying a target for Tourettes Action. More on why, and where the money goes, on the charity page.
